User Engagement Officer
– £36,170 12 months fixed term contract with possibility of extension and/or permanency The Parliamentary Digital Service forms part of the Parliamentary Administration and works closely with both the House of Commons and House of Lords to deliver new technologies and technology enabled change both through 3rd party contracts/procurements and in-house bespoke development. We are responsible for all operational ICT support for Parliament including a complex business applications portfolio and a secure and efficient network / desktop environment for MPs, Lords and Parliamentary staff.
In the coming years the Parliamentary Digital Service will be introducing new services and will be working to help our customers get the most from these. In order to help us achieve this, we are looking for a number of User Engagement Officers to promote these services, and help all of our customers make the most of them.
The User Engagement Officers will carry out key engagement activities within major projects in the Digital Service. They will work with Members of both Houses and their staff from the two Houses to prepare them for the changes that will come with the implementation of new technology, and to support them through these changes, so that users get the most from them.
The User Engagement Officers will be motivated by a strong customer service ethic and a desire to support the UK democratic process: they will know about the work of Parliament and Members, and understand their priorities and the context within which they work.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
We are currently looking for candidates who have:
Good influencing, negotiation and interpersonal skills
An interest in the challenges and culture of Parliament
Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to prioritise to meet deadlines and takes full responsibility for quality and timescales of own work
Effective written and verbal communication skills and can present complex information in a straightforward way
